FIT CAMPS ARE HERE TO STAY

I had an absolute blast on Paul Mort's workshop last weekend and most of you have experienced a boot camp style conditioning in the classes. This style of training works you in a totally different way and it is hard! The emphasis is on intensity not length so you push your body as hard as you can but for a shorter period of time.

We all thought that Zumba was the new fitness revolution and whilst it is certainly extremely popular and unlike any other class I teach it seems boot camps, or my preferred term, fit camps are popping up all over the place. However, what exactly does it entail?

Camps are where intense training takes place and normally a strict diet is adhered to. Those of you that know me will know that I am not a fan of ‘diets’ in any way shape or form. However, I am open minded and decided to trial a clean diet and a period of intense exercise to see what results I could expect. My 'trial' starts from Monday and I will keep you posted on how I get on. Rest assured that if I struggle with the diet or end up feeling tired and moody then I will amend to something that works and is reasonable!!!

I will follow what is normally termed a ‘clean’ diet for a period of two weeks. This kind of diet is normally followed for a minimum of four weeks but I do not think this is a realistic expectation! The principles of a clean diet are to only eat food that comes from an animal or food that comes from the ground but there are added exceptions to this, once I know the detailed aspects of the diet it will be rolled out to all those of you who attend fit camp and want fantastic results in 4 weeks! By following this plan for 14 days you are coming up with a realistic length of time in which to follow it but it will be HARD!

Fit camps are normally two or three weekly classes. There is no EASY in this at all and overall you need to 100% dedicated to commit to this style of training so it wont suit everyone. BUT, if you want results then this is a very effective way forward. You are basically getting the skills of a personal trainer but in a group setting so that you can support each other and at the fraction of the cost of a one to one session!

Every training programme I have devised I made as intense as possible and instead of having a set number of repetitions I based it on time. That way you can do them at your own pace but still make it as hard as you want! Doing the training, the clean diet and then ensuring you have a balanced diet from will enable you to decrease fat loss, increase muscle mass and have loads of energy! If you are someone who enjoys working hard but with the support of others but don’t enjoy traditional classes then this may well be the way forward for you.

There are so many different sorts of fit camps and boot camps to choose from so you can be sure to find one that suits you! There are bridal camps to get you fit for your big day, bikini boot camps, commando and forces fit camps which I have no doubt will work you harder than you have ever worked in your life! I have a friend who runs Tactical Fitness in Salisbury and just reading what he puts his recruits through makes me tired!

Fir2Drop Fit Camps will be starting soon so do email me if you are interested as spaces will be limited! Yes the fit camp will work you hard, following the clean diet will be challenging but remember it is only for 14 days and then we start to reintroduce foods into the diet but at the end of the day if you want results and you want them fast then this is the way forward. You will also get unrivalled support with you own online support community where you can 'chat' with fellow fit campers and supportive texts and emails from me daily!

Are you fit to drop that dress size - guaranteed?
