Are the miracle secrets to weight loss? Not exactly but there are things that you can do that can REALLY help. Slimmin tablets and patches will never, ever work long term so stop using them now. Being overweight is because of one simple fact. Your calorie intake is greater than your calorie output. No excuses and nothing fancy. That is it pure and simple. You need to make a decision to change for good.
Make a list of your personal barriers, work out what it has been that has stopped you from being successful in the past.
Then work out the solutions for those barriers so that you can put successful strategies in place.
From those solutions pick one to try and develop a specific action plan to put your solution into practice.
Remember you CAN do this.
You may be sat there reading this and thinking well that's ok for others but it wont work for me and you are right, it wont. It wont because your mindset is all wrong.
Small changes in the way that you think will trigger big changes in behaviour and in turn successful and long term weight loss.
Take responsibility for yourself. Slim people are responsible for what they eat and how they live. You WILL become slim when you take responsibility for your decisions which in turn will give you greater control over your food intake.
These are BIG things to think about and it may be hard and make you feel umcomfortable but these are the things that will make the most difference.
Stop making excuses. Things will never change whilst you are coming up with a reason for being overweight other than you being the one that is responsible for it. Let go of old attitudes.
Accept yourself as you are. This is not a reason to be complacent about your weight it is simply accepting who you are and accepting that you are going to change.
Learn to like yourself. I come across a lot of overweight people who dislike themselves intensely. They hate the fact that they are overweight, eat more food to try and make themselves feel better and then feel guilty about overeating, then think they are fat anyway so carry on eating - STOP! Once you learn to like yourself you will automatically want to eat healthy food.
Be honest with yourself. Write down what you eat and write down everything. So that 'little something' you had may have been half a packet of digestives.
Learn from your mistakes. If you do eat too many biscuits don't beat yourself up about it. Be positive and work out what you can do next time to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Focus. Successful people are totally focused - FACT. If you want to lose weight, tone up or whatever, focus on that 100% without fail. Don't focus on being overweight, focus on being slim.
Take control. Does your weight control you or do you control your weight? Remember you have to take sole responsibilty for you weight, no one else will. You have the power to control your weight not the other way round.
Believe in yourself. If you believe that you can't lose weight then you wont. Believe that you control your weight, believe you can be healthy, active and slim.
Change your mindset. Once you start thinking like a slim person your relationship with food will change. You will automatically make healthier food choices.
Self esteem. If your self image is poor then it is more than likely that food will be controlling you and not the other way around. Losing weight will not boost your self esteem. To be able to lose weight you need to start liking yourself. By taking control you will boost your self esteem and be able to address your weight problem.
Don't seek approval from others. You are doing this for you and no one else. Teach yourself to not worry what others think of you.
Assert yourself. Don't eat because you think you ought to. Learn to say 'no' when other people push you to eat or when you are full.
All of the above will help, it is hard and it will take time but YOU WILL SUCCEED.
